Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ)

Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) is funded by Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC). The objective of this program is to provide a wage subsidy to enable employers to create career-related summer jobs for students in order to prepare them for the labour market.

Deadline

The deadline date for Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) is February 28, 2011.

Program Highlights

  • A partial wage subsidy (50% of minimum wage per hour) based on a minimum 30-hour and maximum 40-hour week for a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 16 consecutive weeks.

  • Employers are required to top up this amount to at least minimum wage plus vacation and benefits.

  • During the summer, employers are required to pay the student their full salary from their own funds. Reimbursements are issued to employers in late fall.
