Career Centre - Employers
Post a position

The Career Centres at all 3 campuses offer you opportunities to gain exposure to a highly impressive pool of men and women who can make solid contributions to your organization's success - now, and in the future. There are many ways that you can build your organization's brand on campus, even when you're not hiring.

Career fairs

To increase your organization’s profile, attend one of our career fairs and meet hundreds of students and recent graduates. This is an effective way to connect with our diverse population of talented students from a wide range of programs.

Co-ops and internships

Give students the opportunity to gain professional experience outside of the classroom, through co-op placements or internships within your organization. U of T offers experiential programs across a wide range of disciplines. Post your opportunities online with the Career Centre or contact us and we will connect you with who you are looking for and what you need.

Extern Job Shadowing Program

Open your doors and let students discover your business environment firsthand. The Extern Job Shadowing Program is a unique opportunity to share your insights and experiences with students through job shadowing and meetings. Over one to five days or during an informational interview, students explore the skills, environment, lifestyle, and discuss educational requirements that accompany all aspects of your work.

Informational interviews

Talking with students either in person or over the phone, you’ll answer questions, share insights, and provide valuable career information. Fill out our online profile form and submit it to the Career Centre. The number of interviews per month and the time of day you are able to assist, will be specified by you. We’ll publish it in our library and post on our website, then U of T students will contact you directly to arrange for an informational interview.

Alumni profiles

As a successful graduate of the University of Toronto you are in an excellent position to help answer one of the most popular questions our students ask – “What can I do with my degree?” We invite you to submit your story to inspire and motivate current students.

Provide company information

The University of Toronto Career Centre has an extensive Resource Library which is used by both students and staff to research all aspects of the workplace. Help us keep this up-to-date by providing any information you may have on your organization - from annual reports, to brochures and pamphlets, to magazine clippings, newspaper articles, and website addresses.

Guest speaker

Share your industry knowledge and experience by meeting with students interested in your area of expertise:

  • Panels: Be a speaker on one of our career and industry panels. It’s a great way to increase the visibility of your organization on campus and provide students with valuable career information.
  • Networking Events: Representatives can meet and speak with recent U of T graduates to discuss networking tips, market trends and employment prospects.
  • Practice Interviews: Help students gain hands-on interview experience by participating in our practice interview sessions. These 30-minute sessions allow you to interview students for 20-minutes followed by a 10-minute follow-up so you can offer constructive feedback. Practice interviews are scheduled twice a year in October and May.
